The Wine Club Manifesto
In this club, wine is made for drinking.
No fancy swirling competitions required. No need to sniff it like you're solving a mystery. Name what you taste and move on. Wine is juice. Grown-up, delicious juice that someone went to a lot of trouble to make. And juice is meant to be drunk.
We can talk about dirt and grapes and all that jazz if you really want. But at the end of the day, that bottle is begging to be opened. That cork is practically screaming for freedom. And that lovely liquid inside? It wants to hang out in your glass, maybe with some pizza or a good friend.
So, let's cut the snobbery and pretense. Let's stop treating wine like it's a fragile artifact in a museum or status marker showcasing your sophisticated taste. Less talk about points awarded by critics in bowties and more talk about what we’re eating it with and when you are coming over.
Wine is meant to be enjoyed. It’s for celebrations and for heartbreak. It’s meant to keep the conversation going well past your bedtime. It’s meant to make stories sound better and laughter feel deeper. It's meant to make your Tuesday a little less Tuesday-ish.
Pop the top. Pour it out. Don't overthink it. If it tastes good, it is good.
In other words: Just drink it, stupid.
